Here's a poem about how we sometimes, absentmindedly, get lost in thought,  think too much and put ourselves in a bad mood. Rather than that, whenever we think about something, it should always be about something filled with positivity. Believe it or not, by being positive you are helping yourself get closer to reaching the goals that you really want to achieve. Read on...............

The Reclamation

I get bored- time and again,
It just refuses to work- my little brain.
All my work goes up in vain,
Try what I may, I reap but a grain.

As I face life's periodic 'attack',
I remember things now behind my back.
I visit the dark areas on my life's map,
And feel an urge to give it a tight slap.

And then like a breeze in the eye of the storm,
An advice old takes a sublime form,
Take the positives, forget the black,
Line up the goodies on your memory's rack.

Dance, let loose- do whatever you choose,
Refuse to let that inertia be even a second's muse,
And as I myself follow suit,
The rogue surrenders all his loot.

My vision is clearer with every passing thought,
Everything becomes as it ought.
In an ocean of promise do I set sail,
My ship's backed by a very strong gale.

As I then visualise my cherished dream,
With focus great my eyes do beam.
Unwavering faith it will have to be,
That shall manifest the desire within me.

This one's for every hostel inmate

A guy staying in a hostel (provided by his college) wakes up one day to find that an exam is approaching. So he decides to study in his room. Thus, he sits down at his desk to start preparing- lets see what happens next.....

(Note: A "newt" is a small amphibian having a long slender body and short legs. If there is any other word/line or anything at all which you have a doubt about, please do ask. Its important to me that you get the essence of my poem.)

Persistent Impersistence

With the pride of a lion I sit at the table,
My will power seems magnificently stable.
With loads and loads of syllabus to score,
Countless books I feel ready to devour.
But with a rather miserable & unfitting twist,
My zest and zeal becomes one with the mist.
The purpose with which I had devotedly set out,
Gets lost in the noise from my own brain’s spout.
My girl longs for me- with all her heart
And I just can’t resist my baby from the mart.
Oh laptop dear! My forbidden fruit!
My ambition to study is now a slithery newt!
But as with all dreams, temptations must receive the gag,
As my lady slides inside her cozy bag.
With my new found strength I carry on,
My sole intention being of working all morn.
But what’s that I hear? A distant scream!
I rush outside my room quite startled from my dream.
And then I observe all my efforts undone,
As alas! I’m beckoned by another’s one!

My first post- Yay!

Here's a poem by me. The poem speaks about the differences that exist in society. Read on!

Walls

As the walls before me seem sky high,
My mind fills with thoughts I just can’t deny.
I think of walls that separate a warrior from his beloved,
Of those that cause wars most horrid.
Walls that demark the blacks from the whites,
Walls that cause communities to fight.
Those that exist in people with minds narrow,
Those that keep the isolated in their sorrow.
Those that keep dark secrets from seeing the day’s light,
Of those the British set up - to uphold their might.
But how strange it is to discover
How a mysterious truth itself uncovers.
Of all the walls that cross my mind,
The concrete ones are the weakest you can find!
